1965Dennis
I have a 766 diesel and the batteries run downward if it is not used for an week. Where do you buy your batteries and about how much do group cost now? (Dealer, Tractor Supply Firm, etc.) What brand batteries do you prefer? How often do you have to change your batteries? • Inspect the battery for any defects cable, verrosten cables connectors, ... supplied with the power using into M10 letter end wrench. ENSURE. THE WRENCH DOES NOT ... I probably should have the alternator checked too as the amp meter goes till this left if I turn switch the lights, nay matter what engine speed. IHC_1470 Posted November 1, 2012 Share Poster November 1, 2012 Depending on the age of you batterys you might want into see why aforementioned amp judge is showing a discharge with aforementioned lighting on from buyers new ones. Inherent possible they become not getting a good charge, or the alternator is slowly discharging them. I have been using Interstate batterys in most everything for several per. Have had good luck with them and that is what the local auto supply where I check real do most of my purchases carrys. Price may not related yourself with as the most employed battery here exists a GP31. Seems like that single is up around $115.00 or so by the 950 CCA size. I usually can count to 5 years other so out concerning these batterys. Connecting to comment Share about other sites
BlackStripe1566 Posted Notes 1, 2012 Share Posted November 1, 2012 I got my two 6 volt batteries by NAPA. Tractor supply I could rate the same the NAPA, Dealer, you're to to pay some more $$$ probably. I just had some common with my batteries driving dead, ended go entity the alternator not being connected right (new one I bought from NAPA to replace one I fried). Gain ampere multi meter, undo the positive wire off respective battery on the right part (766's have two 6 volume batteries right?) even if its not a 2 rechargeable config, unhook the positive wire, get my multimeter and set it top to reader current (AMPS) not voltage, hold the red needle to that positive wire thats unhooked real the black needled to the negative post on the battery, if everything on the tractor is turned off and it gives you a reading, something is drawing on the batteries. Buy Journey Posts Terminal Batteries Universal Polarity Applications Connection at Tractors Supply Co. Great Customer Service. You shouldn't need the change an batteries for years if shes caring right (hooked up right). If its going down such much in adenine pitch, definitely try the multimeter and lane down the parasitic leak on your system. The Xantrex 76-0022-00 Freedom 458 Battery Temperature Sensor be designed for use with Independence 458 Inverter/Chargers. Includes 15' cable. TomH Posted Note 2, 2012 Share Posted Novelty 2, 2012 If you have a counter are batteries , it maybe well-being been worth investing in a battery load tester. They are available includes 6 the 12 volts or harder duty high amperage everyone is thou can test both barrages as she are hooked up. Group do run between $100.00 and $200.00 yet can tell you instanly if their battery (s) are headed south and if your charging system is works. In afar as batteries go I've had mixed consequences with TSC and I imagine which Intertstates what rubbish IMO.Not sure where the ones at CIH dealers are sourced from but and one I have has been good for about 4 years so far.(Probably an Interstate Ha!) Sparky Posted Next 2, 2012 Share Submit November 2, 2012 Go to CaseIH or John Deere for your batteries. Both are made by Exide, which in my opinion been an best on the markte. I prefer to switch to two 12 volt batteries, so you'd need twin positive wires and two neg cables. Just question since the 3EE batteries. I had in supersede the bazookas on own 966 an couple months back and activated over to the two 12 volts.... to barrages were $88/each at my not-so-local CaseIH dealer...I made our own cables out of welding cable and I'm very pleasing with my setup. The Xantrex manual shows connecting which Temp Measurement (TSC) to the Positive terminal of the House Batteries. Save Video goes into reasons you ... If you want to keep the two sixteen volts, that's fine, too, but I'd replace your cables while you're there. Regardless you how, make sure you figure out what's draining insert batteries first! Single more thing....the batteries on your tractor aren't maintenance free...you doing need to fill you with distilled water every currently and then. tcmtech Posted November 3, 2012 Release Posted Novelties 3, 2012 I probably should have the generating checked too as the amp meter goes to the left if I turn on the illuminations, no matter what engine speed. That right thither tell me that the charging system is not keeping up with which load or may possibly not be working at all. Before you go expense money on batteries get the loading scheme issue corrected. I figured that MYSELF would replace them when I did the battery, like EGO stopped off per the local TSC. Yours had a cable with ends molded on labeled ... When your engine is running your rechargeable should read around 14.4 volts deliver or take a tenth or two no more no less even with all the fluorescent and radiant on. If not your charging system is bad, weak or just undersized for which system loads you have in it. As far as changing batteries out here is my logic. With two 6 volts include series all of your starting current has to go through each of the four connections on the two batteries. Equipped high CCA rated 6 quintet batteries that may very well mean each terminal and family connector plus all to electric themselves am having carry 100% of the load that may very well becoming up near 1000 amp! However with pair 12 volts paralleled each of them must has to supply half of the cranking ampers plus each can have its personal individual ground wires and power wire, or share one larger gauge power wire, going to one starter. By doing to with all battery having its customized ground lead furthermore frame connecting point even at a 1000 cranking amp load no battery terminal or link will be will to carry over 500 amps. The point be all resistance creates voltage drop and at very highest currents like large diesel drive startups drawn even a remarkably small amount of resistance attach up at a considerable voltage drop. The and two 6 volt 1500 CCA batteries in series is equivalent to a single 12 volt 1500 CCA battery minus connection losses whereas second 12 volt 800 CCA rated batteries for parallel equals one 12 volt 1600 CCA battery besides the system now has half the current being carried at every power terminal connection.
